
Tony Sidis
Tony Sidis is the founder and director of Austrite Industries Pty Ltd, as well as David Capraro. Tony began working in refrigeration since 1977. After working for a number of companies in the refrigeration industry, he acquired profound knowledge of the industry. His final role before opening Austrite was as branch manager for a large refrigeration company. It was here where Tony met now business partner David in 1997. Having worked in the industry for 20 years and having to work towards growing the business of others Tony wanted to embark on a new challenge. He wanted to launch his own business venture with then client David Capraro. The two quickly built a strong rapport, feeling passionately about branching off into their own venture and building up a company which would focus on Air Conditioning and Mechanical Servicing. It was then in 2000, Austrite Industries was launched. From humble beginnings where David and Tony worked out of a home office, the team have an office in south west Sydney with several permanent and contract staff.
When Tony was questioned on why Austrite has continued to grow and even overcome challenging times like the Global Financial Crisis in 2007/2008 he commented “this industry is not a sprint, it is a marathon. We not only focus on the individual job at hand but more importantly we focus on developing a strong rapport with our clients. This is how I measure success. When you sign on a new customer, and twenty years later you have maintained this relationship, then you must be doing something right. When dealing with Austrite we complete projects efficiently and with the customer in the forefront of our mind. This is embedded within all staff. We do not compromise on quality nor do we take short cuts. Our motto is simple: efficient service, quality workmanship and long term client relationships. Whether a year has gone by since our project, or 5 or 10 years, we are accountable for all that we do, and our customers know that they can rely on us to back up our products and services. That is our key differentiator, we focus on long term relationships in an industry that revolves around short term contracts. I teach all our staff that when there is a problem, whether it was created by us, the client or another company, we will take the accountability to fix it. It is about integrity and transparency in what we do. “
